No, this isn’t yet another post about the importance of wearing masks. We all know it’s important at this point, or if you are reading this and still think COVID-19 is fake, then please kindly Eff-off. Seriously, we all get that you’re edgy and the government is trying to implant something in you because they aren’t already tracking you through your cellphone/Facebook account/social security number/tax returns/and fillings. But, I digress. This post isn’t about any of that. Actually, this post is about the fabulous masks being sold by Akira right now, and how I want every single one of them. Seriously, guys, when it comes to wearing masks, either got big – or stay home!

So I was scrolling Facebook earlier and I saw an ad from Akira about their “Fashion Face Covers” and I’m telling you – I don’t know who came up with the concept for these, but I am seriously impressed. Forget the impossible to find N-95 masks, or those little blue masks they sell at every drug store, these are masks that put all other masks to shame.
Okay, so yeah, most of us wouldn’t wear these on the daily, but isn’t it nice to think about making this thing we all have to wear now be a little less, well, medical?
Imagine showing up to one of the government sanctioned events of 11 or less people wearing this sucker? Gotta TikTok video to record? They’re gonna love this one!
Okay, so I’m joking a little with that last bit, but not really. Mostly, I just want to thank everyone for doing their part in getting this thing under control. COVID-19 is nothing to sneeze at, and while life is super scary, it’s good to know that we can still laugh.
Because yes, these are fun, but also very silly. And I doubt I’ll go to Walmart or HEB and see anyone actually wearing something like this, but if I do, I will give them a nod. Because they’re doing their part. And they’re having fun while they’re at it. Bless you, you beautiful mask wearer. Thank you for not sneezing on us all.
